AutoExpo 2023 was held in Greater Noida from 13th to 18th Jan 2023. This write-up lists the electric vehicles showcased by different OEMs in different categories.
ELECTRIC TWO-WHEELERS
AMPERE ELECTRIC – PRIMUS ELECTRIC SCOOTER
Ampere by Greaves unveiled the new Primus electric scooter. The electric scooter comes with a range of 120 km (ARAI), thanks to its 3Kwh LFP battery pack. The claimed top speed is 75kmph. It comes in 4 different colours.

MOTOVOLT E-SCOOTER – M7
Motovolt unveiled its M7 multi-purpose electric scooter at the Autoexpo. One of the main highlights of this e-scooter is its storage capacity of 107 L. The scooter also offers a detachable pillion seat.

ULTRAVIOLETTE F99 FACTORY RACING – F77
Ultraviolette announces its entry into the world of electric motorsports through the F99 Factory Racing platform. The motorcycle has a peak power of 50 KW (65 Hp) and a claimed top speed of 200 Kmph. Along with this, the company also displayed its F77 electric sports bike at the auto expo.

LIGER MOBILITY
Liger mobility unveiled two electric scooters – The liger X and the X+. The USP of these scooters is their Auto-Balancing tech. This function can work for loads up to 150 kg. Liger X has a claimed range of 60 km, while the X+ has a range of 100 km.

MATTER ENERGY
Matter energy showcased two of its electric motorcycle concepts: Concept-EXE and Concept-UT. Both of these models feature removable batteries. The concept UT also features a top box, side panniers and knuckle guards, which hints it’s more of an electric ADV.

TORK MOTORS
Tork unveiled the Kratos X, which has significant upgrades compared to its sibling, the Kratos R. It has a new aluminium swingarm, a different powertrain, a 7-inch TFT touchscreen, and it also gets a new FF (Furiously Fast) mode. Along with this, Tork has given a refreshed look to the Kratos R at the auto expo by launching two new colours for the R variant.

GRAVTON MOTORS
Gravton Motors unveiled QRX at Auto Expo 2023, which entails an exposed frame design which is adaptable & modular, plus 17-inch wheels. Other specs include a Max torque of 172 Nm, battery capacity of 3 kW, top speed of 70 Kmph, top range on a single charge of 160 km, and motor capacity of 3 kW. It also gets different speeds for different modes like ECO-30 kmph, City-45 kmph, and Sport-70 kmph.

WARD WIZARD
WardWizard, the manufacturer of electric two-wheeler Joy ebike, launched a new high-speed electric scooter ‘MIHOS’ with Poly Dicyclopentadiene Material (PDCPD) to bring high standards of durability for the riders. Designed and developed by WardWizard’s R&D team in Vadodara, MIHOS is a retro-style electric scooter. The production will take place at the company’s facility in Vadodara, Gujarat, and the deliveries will commence in a phased manner across the country.
Mihos can do a 0-40 kmph in less than 7 sec and comes with an instantaneous torque of 95 Nm on offer. It also features a 74V 40Ah Li-Ion-based battery with Nickel Manganese Cobalt chemistry having a net energy content of 2.5 kWh.
Launched at Rs.1,49,000 (For the first 5000 customers).

ELECTRIC THREE-WHEELER
MTA E-MOBILITY
The company unveiled two electric 3-wheelers in the L5 category for their flagship model Shera. The Shera Comfy is a passenger 3-wheeler, while the Shera R8 is a cargo 3-wheeler.
Shera comfy comes with a payload capacity of 350 kgs, peak torque of 35Nm, peak power of 7 KW, top speed of 45 Kmph and a range of 120 km. Shera R8 comes with a payload capacity of 500-550 kgs, peak torque of 42Nm, peak power of 8.2-10.4 KW, top speed of 45-50 Kmph and a range of 110-125 km, and a ground clearance of 245mm.
Both of these models have an estimated charging time of 3-4 hours.


ATUL GREENTECH
Atul Greentech Private Limited (AGPL), a subsidiary of Atul Auto Limited, announced its foray into the electric space with the unveiling of two electric three-wheelers – Atul Mobili & Atul Energie. Atul Mobili is a passenger vehicle, and Atul Energie is a cargo variant.
Atul Energie is the electric cargo three-wheeler to have a dual battery pack providing a range of 195 km (certified). The passenger variant, Atul Mobili comes with a range of 110 km (certified). The vehicles are integrated with a motor drive from Valeo and chargers from charging manufacturing company Delta Q. Both vehicles are powered by lithium-ion batteries.

GREAVES
Greaves showcased its concept 3–wheelers at the auto expo. Greaves ELP – an electric passenger 3-wheeler; Greaves ELC – an electric cargo 3-wheeler; and Greaves Aero Vision – a futuristic cargo concept.

WARD WIZARD
Ward wizard has entered into the segment of electric three-wheelers with Joy e-Rik. The 3-wheeler comes with a ground clearance of 140mm and a turning radius of 2.7m. It packs a 4,000W motor with torque of 17 Nm and a top speed of 50 – 55 kmph. Combi drum brakes are incorporated with an electronic braking system. The battery is rated as 64V100Ah. One charging cycle completes in 3.5 – 4 hours at 30 Amp. The e-3W offers an 80-85 km (without load) range per charge.

GODAWARI ELECTRIC MOTORS
Godawari Electric Motors commences its EV journey in India by launching its electric Auto, Eblu Rozee and electric bicycle, Eblu Spin. Both products were launched at Auto Expo 2023, presented by Mr Hyder Khan, CEO & Mr Siddharth Agrawal, Managing Director, Godawari Electric Motors.

ELECTRIC FOUR-WHEELER
TATA HARRIER EV
TATA showcased the electric version of Harrier. The 5-seater monocoque SUV is engineered on the OMEGA Architecture, derived from the legendary Land Rover D8 architecture and developed in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover.

TATA SIERRA EV
Another interesting electric SUV shown by TATA is the SIERRA.EV. The planted and layered front-end design accentuates the width of the car, making it look sophisticated yet capable. While the full width is slim, uninterrupted DRL communicates high-tech and precision.
The clamshell tailgate provides unparalleled access to the rear luggage compartment, enabling the sleek, uninterrupted tail lamp to be embedded across the width of the car. Although compact in exterior dimensions, the car has a roomy and spacious interior, accentuated by layered and horizontal interior design theme and colour way.
At the rear, the lounge seating provides spaciousness/legroom. The business class style reclining function provides even more relaxation by taking advantage of the additional space. The steering wheel has an illuminated logo in the centre, augmented by two switches on either end for the driver to communicate or interface with the product with effortless ease.

KIA
Unveiled at Auto Expo2023, KiaEV9 features a futuristic minimalist dashboard with a twin-screen infotainment layout and a spoke-less flat-bottom steering wheel.

BYD SEAL
BYD India unveiled its Luxury Electric Sedan BYD Seal at the expo. The luxury sedan BYD Seal is planned to be launched in India by Q4 2023. BYD Seal boasts an all-wheel-drive, 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, and a range of 700 km. It’s their third new passenger EV within two years.
BYD says the Seal is the first to use BYD’s CTB (cell to body) technology, which allows the battery to be integrated into the body (battery becomes an integrated component of the chassis), substantially improving the vehicle safety, stability, handling, and performance. Supported by the CTB technology, BYD Seal achieves a breakthrough in the structural strength of the battery system through the cellular structure, which can withstand a 50-ton heavy-duty truck rolling test. Via the integration of battery and body, the torsional stiffness of the whole vehicle has doubled to above 40,500 N.m/o, and the safety of the interior structure of the vehicle is increased by 50% for front impact and by 45% for side impact. The CTB technology also gives BYD Seal an ideal 50:50 axle load distribution, which makes the vehicle pass the moose test at 83.5 km/h. With an aero drag coefficient of merely 0.219 Cd, BYD Seal hits 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and also has an ultra-long range of up to 700 km on a single charge.

PRAVAIG DYNAMICS
Pravaig dynamics presented India’s 1st electric military utility vehicle- Veer. Veer EV’s dual-motor set-up produces 408hp and 620Nm
Features: Thermal imaging sensor, airlift hooks, a four-tonne winch & a two-tonne tow hitch. It can be charged from 0-80 per cent in 30 minutes.

HYUNDAI IONIQ 5
Hyundai India launched the IONIQ 5 at the expo. Hyundai IONIQ 5 is built on Hyundai’s new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). The powertrain features a Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with a Rear wheel drive (RWD) setup offering a Max power of 217 PS and Max torque of 350 Nm. The powerhouse features a battery with a Capacity of 72.6 kWh, which can be charged with an AC 11 kW charger in 6 h 55 min.

MARUTI SUZUKI EVX
The eVX is an all-electric concept SUV derived out of Suzuki’s first global strategic EV. It is scheduled to be introduced to the market by 2025. The concept EV features a battery with a capacity of 60kWh and a range of 550km (measured in modified Indian driving cycle (MIDC)).

ELECTRIC LCVs
JUPITER ELECTRIC MOBILITY
Jupiter Electric Mobility showcased their 2 electric LCVs – Tez (2.2 ton) and EV Star CC (7 ton) at the event.
The Tez features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment Motor Power 40/80 kW motor; the battery capacity of the B2B version is 14 kWh (LTO), and that of the Retail: 28 kWh (LFP). The Range & Charging Time B2B application is a 100 km range and 20 min charging time, and for the retail application, it offers a 200 km range and 2 hours charging time.
The EV Star CC features a 150 KW motor and an LFP liquid-cooled battery pack with a capacity of 62.5 Kwh as standard and 118 Kwh as an option. The range for the two variants also varies, with 150km for the standard and 250 Km for the bigger battery pack. The motor power is rated at 150 KW, which offers a peak torque of 1200Nm while delivering a top speed of 80 kmph.

OMEGA SEIKI MOBILITY
Omega Seiki launched its LCV electric truck, the M1KA 1.0, at the auto expo. The truck is equipped with a PMSM motor with rated peak power of 60KW and a Peak Torque of 80Nm. Powering the truck is a battery pack with a capacity of 38.7 kWh, which enables a range of 150 km [NEDC(with half load)].

ASHOK LEYLAND
Ashok Leyland unveiled its BOSS Battery Electric Vehicle. It runs on a battery that powers the motor that drives the vehicle. This vehicle uses a Lithium-ion battery – which is charged externally. To provide a payload advantage, this vehicle comes with a lightweight design.

ELECTRIC BUSES
EICHER MOTORS
Eicher motors presented its Eicher Intercity 13.5m EV bus, India’s longest intercity electric coach. The E-bus features a battery pack of 396 Kwh, a driving range of up to 380 km, and 53 passenger pushback seats.

JBM AUTO
JBMAuto presented India’s first indigenously designed & manufactured 100% electric luxury coach in the form of the JBM Galaxy, presented by Mr. Nishant Arya, VC, JBM Group at AutoExpo2023. The luxury coach contains zero tailpipe emission, best-in-class per km power consumption, says JBM.

SWITCH MOBILITY
Switch unveiled its EiV7, which is equipped with Permanent Magnet Synchronous AC Motor and generates 1100 Nm Peak torque and offers up to 250 km. It has a seating capacity of 24+D. The new IeV Series catering to last-mile and mid-mile delivery was also showcased.
