Free2move announced that it had signed an agreement with BMW Group and Mercedes-Benz Mobility Group to acquire Share Now, a car-sharing company. Share Now was formed in 2019 by BMW Group and Mercedes-Benz Mobility Group. The proposed agreement will further position Free2move to be a global leader in mobility, adding 14 European cities and 10,000 cars to its existing car-sharing fleet of 2,500 vehicles.

Time is precious in the fast-paced world of mobility. Users want to maximize every second. It is a huge responsibility to move a customer. Free2move created an innovative mobility service that can be customized to the needs of its customers. This service is already available in Europe and the United States. It allows customers to rent a car for just a few minutes or hours. Customers can keep the vehicle for longer periods of time without having to change their contract. Free2move pricing automatically adjusts.

Brigitte Courehoux, CEO of Free2move, stated that “Integrating Share Now’s strong position in European cities will allow customers to gain greater accessibility to a wider variety of services to meet their diverse mobility needs.” This acquisition will accelerate our profitable growth. Now we are closer to our goal to expand Free2move’s global presence to 15,000,000 active users by 2030.

This acquisition will leverage Free2moves financial discipline and ability to manage a profitable company. It will also contribute to its Dare Forward 2030 ambition to grow the profitable mobility service to net revenues exceeding EUR2.8 billion, with the first step of EUR700 million revenues in 2025.

Free2move announced recently that it had acquired Opel Rent in Germany and Austria. This will accelerate its growth strategy and help to make the transition from renting to a mobility provider. It has also increased its car-sharing growth in the United States, offering service in Washington, D.C., Portland, Oregon, Denver, Colorado, Columbus, Ohio, and Austin, Texas. Free2move offers car-sharing in Europe (Paris, Madrid).
