Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) will set up around 1,000 electric vehicle charging stations in the country this year. It will ramp up the process of setting up EV charging stations in the country.
“Indian Oil is gearing up to provide EV charging facilities at 10,000 fuel stations in the next three years. This will give confidence to customers for an uninterrupted drive as well as to automobile manufacturers to enhance the production of electric vehicles,” said V Satish Kumar, the director of marketing at IOCL.
IOCL will also set up 15 EV charging stations by the end of the current fiscal year. Currently, it has 3 electric vehicle charging stations in the city.
“In Pune, we plan to increase the number of charging stations by 15 by the end of the financial year from the three at present. In Maharashtra, around 75 electric vehicle charging stations will be ready by the end of the fiscal,” said Anjali Bhave, the general manager of corporate communication at IOCL.
