Odisha To Give 15% Subsidy On EV Purchase

The Odisha government will give a 15% subsidy on every purchase of electric vehicles according to the Commerce and Transport Department of the state.

The subsidy for electric two-wheelers will be 15% of the cost of the vehicle and up to Rs. 5000. On electric three-wheelers, the maximum subsidy cap is Rs. 10,000 and for electric four-wheelers, the subsidy is Rs. 50,000.

This comes after the recommendations of Niti Aayog and this also agrees with the Odisha EV Policy 2021. The subsidy will be applicable from September 1st, 2021.

The RTO where the electric vehicle will be registered will credit the amount of the subsidy to the beneficiary’s bank accounts. This subsidy scheme will be available only till December 31, 2025.

The department will also set up a portal where all the information related to the credit of purchase benefits, sales, and loan subsidies will be provided. The registration fees and the taxes are already exempted on all-electric vehicles.
