E-2W and E-3W (Cargo & Passenger) vehicles accounted for 46,449 of the total 49,676 electric vehicles sold in January 2022.

Data excludes low-speed e-2W. For 3W Passenger and Cargo, vehicles from both L3 and L5 categories are included.
- In January 2022, 27,555 high speed E-2Ws were sold, compared to 4936 units in January 2021. Sales of the Electric 3W Passenger Vehicle have reached 17,039 units, a 42 percent increase over the same month last year.
- Sales of Electric 3W Cargo Vehicle increased from 739 units in January 2021 to 1893 units in January 2022, while the sales of electric 4W rose from 625 units to 3020 units over the last year.
The graph shows a steep increase in the sales of electric 2W and electric 3W Passenger in the country over the last one year.

Uttar Pradesh has the highest share (20%) of EV sold with 9826 units in Jan 2022.

For high speed electric 2W, there had been an M-o-M increase of 11% while decrease in electric 3W Passenger and Cargo by 19% and 12% respectively. For E- 3 Wheelers Passenger Vehicle, the top 10 OEM Manufacturers contribute to only 55% of sales in January 2022 and 42% for E-3W Cargo Vehicle.

Tata Motors had a market share of 95.76 per cent in Jan 2022. Tata Motors sold 2,892 electric cars in Jan 2022, up from 514 a year before.
